Location: Glen Burnie Town Center, Maryland

Work type: Part‑Time Faculty

Salary: $50/hr

Hours per week: Flexible – days, evenings, weekends

Work mode: Requires regular in‑person presence on campus and at alternative locations, depending on class schedule and other duties.

Instructor is responsible for classroom and lab instruction in the Clinical Medical Assistant field, following the curriculum outline and learning expectations. Content is housed in Canvas. Instructors must have computer experience, expertise in the Clinical Medical Assisting field or higher, and ability to manage a classroom. Prior teaching experience is not required; a desire to share knowledge of the Medical Assistant field is essential.

Instructors will adhere to Anne Arundel Community College’s adjunct faculty instructional policies and procedures.

• Prepare materials needed for instruction, labs, and supplies.
• Provide basic lab maintenance and track inventory of equipment and tools.
• Relate instruction and material to course objectives.
• Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal/patient safety and infection control.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
• Submit grades, attendance, reports, and records in a timely manner.
• Prepare students to sit for the national certification clinical medical assistant credential through the National Health Career Association (NHA).

Must have active certification CMA (AAMA), CCMA (NHA), or RMA.

• At least 5 years experience practicing as a clinical medical assistant.
• At least 1 year of teacher/trainer experience.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.
