OverviewThe Custodian I/II position is responsible for providing custodial services for all College buildings, ensuring proper hygiene compliance and maintaining the cleanliness of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, administrative offices, auditoriums, and other facilities. Working various shifts including overnight (11 pm–7 am) and weekday shifts (7 am–3 pm, Monday‑Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
Responsibilities- Perform cleaning tasks across campus buildings (rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, auditoriums).
- Follow hygiene protocols and maintain cleanliness standards.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and other custodial machinery.
- Move or organize furniture safely as needed.
- Respond professionally to students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of custodial experience.
- Ability to read, write, and follow simple directions.
- Physical capability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. during an 8‑hour shift.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, slippery surfaces).
- Ability to work on uneven surfaces and use lifts, ladders, and/or scaffolding at elevated heights.
- Professional interaction with a culturally diverse community.
- Proven record of attendance and reliability.
- Flexibility with work location, assignments, hours, and shifts.
- Experience using heavy custodial equipment and moving furniture, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to work well with others.
