POSITION SUMMARY
:
To help students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible members of society.

• Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate in French
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with personnel, students, and patrons in individual and group settings.
• Knowledge of informal and formal assessment procedures and curriculum standards

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of resources provided by the district.
• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of superiors.
• Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and establishes reasonable classroom behavior rules, maintaining order fairly.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides learning toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Employs instructional methods and materials most appropriate for meeting objectives.
• Strives to implement the district's philosophy of education, curriculum, instructional goals, and objectives.
• Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Assesses student progress on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and regulation.
• Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules and Board policy.
• Provides availability to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required.
• Attends faculty meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
• Cooperates with staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Assists in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
• Accepts shared responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned.
• Establishes and maintains open communication with students and parents about academic and behavioral progress.
• Maintains cooperative relations with others.
• Engages in ongoing professional growth through reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, or advanced coursework.
• Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents regularly.
• Other duties as assigned by the building principal.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
