Civil Engineering Technician I

Jerseyville, Columbia, Mt. Vernon, IL or Arnold, MO, IL.

Provides support to civil engineers through preparation of engineering documents, details, schedules and/or reports.

• Performs duties assigned to deliver a quality project on schedule.
• Assists in the preparation of specifications, supporting documents and permit applications for subdivisions, commercial developments, multi‑family developments and public works projects.
• Participates in project team meetings and follows procedures outlined in Project Management Standards manual.

Fluent English with reading, written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and other video conferencing software.

• Ability to collect and analyze data, apply problem solving skills to specific design tasks, develop creative solutions, work alone or as part of a project team, and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills are essential for this position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
