Position SummaryUtilizes civil engineering experience/knowledge in the design of projects consistent with the focus of the firm.
Primary Position Duties- Perform civil engineering design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment.
- Carry out assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in a sequence of related engineering tasks; limited judgment is required on details or in selecting and adapting engineering alternatives.
- Use prescribed methods to perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced civil engineer.
- Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
- Assist in the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents and permit applications for private, public works, and government projects.
- Perform plan drafting using CADD software.
- Participate in project team meetings and follow procedures outlined in Project Management Standards manual.
- Assign tasks to Engineering Technicians and Project Engineers, as necessary.
Fluent English with reading, written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D;
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Teams and other video conferencing software.
Ability to collect and analyze data, apply problem solving skills to specific projects, develop creative solutions, work alone or as part of a project team, and demonstrate attention to detail.
Effective communication skills are essential for this position.
Education or SkillsRequired:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
- Current Driver’s License
Preferred:
- Registration as an Engineer in Training
- Minimum of three (3) years civil engineering experience
