Substitute Custodian – Fox C-6 School District

Contract:

4‑8 hour work day as needed. Reports to the Director of Maintenance/Building Principal.

Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment for students and staff.

• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor.
• Ability to perform daily tasks with minimum supervision.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

• Clean and maintain school facilities such as classrooms, restrooms, hallways, entrance doors, entryways, offices, floors, desks, chairs, and walls – including scrubbing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and waxing.
• Replenish supplies in restrooms and classrooms; change light bulbs.
• Order janitorial supplies from the maintenance office.
• Remove snow and ice from sidewalks.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• Set up chairs and tables for meetings.
• Handle other duties as needed such as painting, cutting grass, making repairs, and ensuring rooms are securely locked.
• Report maintenance problems to the Building Principal.
• Other duties assigned by the Building Principal, Director, or Maintenance.
