Coordinate and monitor production, product quality, equipment, safety and overall manufacturing performance. Manage department related activities including hiring, evaluating performance and discipline. Conduct new employee orientation and training. Implement and provide oversight on safety and quality policies and procedures. Recommend improvements in manufacturing methods to Project Managers and Plant Manager. Monitor production schedules to ensure shipments are made on time. Actively participate in weekly production meetings and daily huddles.

Monitor inventory and shop supplies to ensure accuracy. Enter purchasing requisitions in Epicor for equipment maintenance and supplies. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient department layout. Effectively communicate relevant information in a timely manner to other areas of the organization including sales, purchasing and plant management. Inspect all work-in-process and finished goods against company quality standards (drawings, job travelers, specifications, work instructions, etc.).

Monitor, track, and report on key performance indicators.

High school diploma, associate degree preferred. Background in forklift/overhead crane operation, reading blueprints and use of measurement/analytical tools. General knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Workplace Safety. 2-5 years of relevant industrial/manufacturing experience. Knowledge in Excel, Word or equivalent. Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Epicor. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and all levels of the organization. Conflict management/resolution skills.

Ability to work autonomously and self-starter. Good organizational skills.
