REQUIREMENTS- Graduation from high school or its equivalent.
- Two years of previous experience in clerical or secretarial work.
- 50 words‑per‑minute typing certificate (on‑line certificates not accepted).
- Ability to speak and write in Spanish.
230 days (10.5 months) – Monday to Friday, 8 hours/day, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
SALARYHourly rate: $20.64–$26.37 (salary placement based on start date and prior experience) + 2% bilingual stipend.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Provide clerical support to administrators and guidance team, including word processing, filing, answering telephones, completing student attendance reports, and updating Student Emergency Cards.
- Maintain calendar, arrange appointments, prepare requisitions, and maintain records of supplies.
- Enroll and discharge students, input daily attendance records, generate attendance reports and letters.
- Generate Independent Study contracts and maintain IS log.
- Assist with purchase, technology, and work orders; maintain volunteer database; provide first aid and medications to students as needed.
- Coordinate substitute information via Sub Cast/Sub Finder, distribute mail, send faxes, and schedule meetings (e.g., SST, IEP, School Site Council).
- Answer telephone inquiries and provide appropriate information to staff and the public.
- Perform other duties reasonably related to classification.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to see and read printed matter; facility to hear and understand speech.
- Physical dexterity to operate computer keyboard and office machines.
- Capable of standing, walking, twisting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, moving, lifting, and carrying up to 5 lbs regularly and up to 15 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to concentrate on a single task for up to two hours.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to machinery, instructions, and task methods.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in stressful situations and remain calm under pressure.
- Daily interaction with staff, students, parents, community members, vendors and visitors; maintain professional interpersonal skills.
- Consistent attendance required due to urgent nature of duties.
- Show understanding and patient attitude toward others.
- Maintain privacy of confidential information.
The Secretary III is under general supervision of the principal or other management designee.
