Join the Substitute Teacher Pool!
The Lucia Mar Unified School District is seeking qualified, dedicated, and flexible educators to join our pool of substitute teachers for the school year. Positions are available across all grade levels and include both General and Special Education settings.
Compensation:
* Full-Day Rate: $175 (7.5 hours, including a 30-minute duty-free lunch)
* Half-Day Rate: $90 (up to 3.5 hours / 210 minutes)
* Long-Term Assignments (21+ consecutive days in same assignment): $190/day
Minimum Qualifications:
To apply , candidates must possess one of the following:
* A valid California Teaching Credential, or
* A valid California Substitute Teaching Permit, or
* Eligibility for a Substitute Teaching Permit, which includes:
* A Bachelor's Degree (or higher), and
* Fulfillment of the Basic Skills Requirement, such as:
* Passing scores from CBEST, SAT, ACT, or
* Successful completion of college-level coursework in English, Reading, Writing, and Math (reflected on an official transcript)

Unofficial transcripts are accepted for initial application review.
Required Application Materials:
* Letter of Interest
* Current Resume
* Three (3) Recent Letters of Recommendation (dated within the last 6 months)
* Proof of credential or eligibility (see above)
* Unofficial transcripts (if using coursework for Basic Skills Requirement)

Post-Hire Requirements:
* Current TB Test clearance (dated within the past 4 years)
* Live Scan fingerprinting through Lucia Mar USD (at applicant's expense)
* Valid Government-Issued Photo employment eligibility verification
