- 4:30 p.m. Position is currently available and is tentatively scheduled to end 10/31/2026. This schedule also includes summer school.

Salary: 19M
- Management, salary placement at $56.38 hourly

Provide counseling services to students and parents in treating mental and emotional disorders of students. Assist the school team in making appropriate decisions relative to a student's educational objectives and his/her school program. Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures which relate to student mental health issues. Supervise and evaluate support staff as appropriate.

Required:

Valid Marriage Family Therapist License or Clinical Social Work License. Knowledge of Federal and State laws and district policies regarding special education and student mental health. Valid California Driver's License. Current CPR and First Aid Certification. Ability to obtain Federal Bureau of Investigation and California Department of Justice fingerprint clearance as required by California Education Code. Tuberculosis Clearance.

Desirable:
Bilingual (Spanish). Two years of related experience working in the counseling field with children and families. Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential. Master's Degree in counseling/social work or related discipline from an accredited institution of higher education. Excellent communication skills and willing to work within a team approach. Crisis Intervention Training Certification.

Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time. Ability to see and read fine print and work with small objects with or without vision aids. Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels with or without aids. Ability to communicate so others will clearly understand normal conversation. Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Ability to reach in all directions. Physical dexterity in limbs and digits to operate computers. Ability to drive a vehicle.

Ability to concentrate on a single task for up to two (2) hours at a time. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a variety of technology, instructions, and task methods. Ability to meet deadlines in terms of work assignment schedules. Interact daily in person with other personnel and possess comfortable interpersonal skills and a cooperative attitude. Because of the time urgent nature of duties and because work product of position is interdependent with that of other staff, consistent attendance is required.

Convey an understanding, patient attitude toward other students, parents, staff and members of community. Maintain the privacy of confidential information including pupil data, staff data, or any other data.

The position is under the supervision and direction of the Director of Special Education. Evaluation of performance will be conducted by the Director of Special Education or designee in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Lucia Mar Unified School District.
