Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited two‑year college or university with a computer science or information technology degree and at least two years of related experience, or industry/military IT certifications with at least four years of related experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with a related degree, or an associate degree with at least four years of related experience, or industry/military IT certifications with at least six years of related experience.
  • At least two years of experience working with databases, student information systems, or other relational data or information systems.
  • At least two years of experience working with student information systems such as Aeries, Power School, Illuminate, or similar applications.
  • At least two years of experience writing and running database queries, preferably Aeries queries or SQL queries on Microsoft SQL Server.
  • At least four years of experience analyzing data in Excel and Google Sheets.
  • At least two years of experience with Google Suite for Education, including Sheets and Forms.
  • At least four years of experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Valid California driver license.
  • One or more Google certifications.
  • Experience programming with Power Shell, VBA, HTML, JavaScript, or other modern web languages.
  • At least two years of experience with Microsoft SQL Management Studio or equivalent.
  • Experience accurately preparing, auditing, and filing government reports such as CALPADS.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and operate the district’s student information system, including patching, updating, troubleshooting, debugging, backing up, and general maintenance.
  • Prepare analytical and assessment reports of student and staff data for site staff, curriculum, and the district office.
  • Oversee, audit, prepare, and file state and federal reports such as CALPADS and Office of Civil Rights.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum and schools to integrate, roster, and configure applications; assist with importing and exporting data.
  • Collaborate with Information Systems Specialists to integrate and configure the SIS with core IT infrastructure, such as Active Directory and Google Suite.
  • Support schools and the business office to ensure accurate attendance accounting.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to maintain accurate staff data in the SIS.
  • Guide implementations of new modules and technologies affecting the SIS.
  • Manage the annual cycle of the student information system.
  • Assist the Help Desk with support questions related to the SIS (e.g., password resets, account creation).
  • Advise supervisor on upcoming regulatory changes and government filing requirements.
  • Create and deliver training to district and school site staff; write manuals and tutorials.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably related to classification.
Physical Requirements

  • Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum/Instruction, or designee.
