Cashier Job Description
Reports To: Store Manager / Owner
Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented, trustworthy, and customer-focused Cashier / Cash Operations Specialist to join our team. As the primary point of contact for financial transactions, you will ensure a seamless, secure, and premium checkout experience for our clients. The ideal candidate combines flawless numerical accuracy and strict adherence to security protocols with the warmth and professionalism expected in luxury fine jewelry retail.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccurately process all customer sales, deposits, returns, exchanges, and custom order payments using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
Maintain strict accuracy in cash drawer reconciliation, performing daily opening and closing counts, register balancing, and daily reports.
Issue clear receipts, certificates of authenticity, and warranty paperwork to clients.
Client Experience & Service Support
Provide an exceptional customer experience during the checkout process, upholding the highest standards of luxury hospitality.
Assist sales associates with packaging high-value jewelry pieces securely and elegantly according to brand standards.
Address basic client inquiries regarding payment options, return policies, and promotional offerings with clarity and courtesy.
- Handle returns, refund and billing disputes professionally,escalating as required.
Experience: Minimum 2+ years of cash handling and POS experience, preferably in high-end retail, fine jewelry, luxury goods, or premium hospitality.
Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with modern POS software, excel, google sheets and integrated credit card processing terminals.
Mathematical & Analytical
Skills:
High accuracy in numerical calculations, change handling, and daily financial reporting.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual abilities (e.g., Hindi, Gujarati) are a strong plus.
Integrity & Reliability: Demonstrated trustworthiness, high ethical standards, and meticulous attention to detail.
Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work retail hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as business requires.
