Experience and Education Requirements

Basic

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or higher with major in a field appropriate to this position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • One year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level, including: (1) providing instruction on law enforcement, criminal prosecution and/or defense to law enforcement personnel; (2) preparing or developing course outlines and lesson plans; (3) reviewing curriculum for revisions.
  • All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Additional selections may be made if identical vacancies occur in the same location within 90 days from closing.

Education documentation:
Provide transcripts or detailed course list to support your claims. If more than 10% of undergraduate coursework was pass/fail, honor society membership or class standing is required. One academic year of graduate study equates to 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours). Foreign education must have a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identify training program needs and develop and revise legal training materials related to law enforcement in Indian Country.
  • Instruct classes and conduct practical evaluations according to lesson plans and course outlines so students achieve objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate student performance in classroom, laboratory, practical exercises, and examinations.
  • Serve as class coordinator for on‑site and field training programs, overseeing logistics, scheduling, evaluation and supervision.
  • Participate in curriculum review committees, presenting orally and in writing, and make recommendations on subject matter and time allotments.
Salary & Benefits

$89,508 – $116,362 per year.
