Position Overview Hoover Energy Services LLC is seeking an experienced Analytical Specialist to install, maintain, calibrate, commission, and troubleshoot analytical equipment used in natural gas and hydrocarbon liquid applications.

This is a hands-on field position for someone who understands more than just the analyzer. We are looking for a specialist who can troubleshoot the complete analytical system—from the process sample point and sample conditioning system through the analyzer, electrical/communications, and final measurement or control system.

The normal schedule is Monday through Friday, with participation in a rotational on-call schedule for after-hours support.

What You’ll DoInstall, commission, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot gas chromatographs, liquid chromatographs, and process analyzers.

Support equipment from manufacturers including ABB, Emerson, Daniel, AMI, Spectra, AMETEK, Endress+Hauser, and others.

Maintain and troubleshoot sample conditioning systems, including sample probes, regulators, filters/coalesce rs, flowmeters, fast loops, heated sample lines, heat tracing, valves, tubing, calibration systems, and carrier gas systems.

Diagnose sample problems including contamination, condensation, liquid carryover, plugged filters, improper pressure or temperature, inadequate sample flow, leaks, and excessive sample transport time.

Service H₂S, O₂, moisture/dew-point, CO₂, gas-quality, liquid-quality, density, and other process analyzers.

Perform analyzer calibration, validation, preventive maintenance, and performance checks.

Troubleshoot 4–20 mA, pulse/frequency, digital I/O, Modbus, RS-485, Ethernet, and other industrial signals and communications.

Troubleshoot analyzer interfaces with flow computers, RTUs, PLCs, SCADA, and measurement systems.

Read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and manufacturer documentation.

Accurately document service work, calibrations, repairs, findings, and recommendations.

Work closely with operations, measurement, automation, and customer personnel.

Participate in the company’s rotational on-call schedule.

Equipment Experience

Experience with several of the following is preferred:

ABB | Emerson | Daniel | AMI | Spectra | AMETEK | Endress+Hauser Additional experience with other gas and liquid analytical equipment used in upstream, midstream, pipeline, and processing applications is highly valued.

What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate has:

Oil and gas analytical, measurement, instrumentation, or automation experience.

Hands-on experience with gas chromatographs and/or process analyzers.

Strong knowledge of sample conditioning systems.

Strong electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical troubleshooting abilities.

Experience with 24 VDC systems, 4–20 mA signals, Modbus, Ethernet, and industrial communications.

Ability to read electrical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.

Ability to troubleshoot independently and identify the root cause of equipment problems.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Ability to work safely and independently at remote oilfield locations.

Ability to participate in rotational after-hours on-call support.

Experience with Class I hazardous locations, custody-transfer measurement, flow computers, RTUs, PLCs, SCADA, LACT systems, gas measurement, and liquid measurement is a plus.

Work Environment This position involves field work at oil and gas facilities including well sites, compressor stations, meter stations, pipelines, production facilities, processing facilities, LACT sites, and other upstream and midstream locations.
