This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Training and Development, U.S. Border Patrol Academy, located in Artesia, NM. Additional selections may be made beyond the total number of vacancies specified using this vacancy announcement. Further selections may also be made for additional organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
This position starts at a salary of $50,460.00 (GS-07, Step
1) to $80,243.00 (GS-09, Step 10) with promotion potential to $80,243 (GS-9 Step 10). GS Salary:

Major
Duties include:
- Supporting training operations by scheduling attendees for classes and coordinating and managing attendee affairs.
- Ensuring all student administrative requirements have been met to include travel, lodging, transportation, and classroom requirements.
- Verifying all travel authorizations and vouchers for compliance and accuracy, assisting academy staff and students with resolving issues related to travel authorizations, travel vouchers, and personnel.
- Coordinating and/or preparing award letters, plaques, and awards; generating graduation notes and programs for ceremonies; securing badges/credentials for issuance and ensures all other administrative requirements for graduations are completed.
- Maintaining training records, files, and databases through the use of the Agency's learning management system for each class to include, (but not limited to) rosters, schedules, departure information, and grade reports.

Experience:
GS-07 grade level:
You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
- Preparing and coordinating travel plans and requests.
- Collecting, assembling, and preparing administrative reports.
- Preparing, organizing, and facilitating logistics for sizeable events and ceremonies.
- Coordinating with personnel at all levels of an organization to ensure that program requirements and organizational objectives are met.
GS-09 grade level:
You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
- Reviewing and improving existing training procedures.
- Troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining training software systems.
- Establishing and maintaining training class schedules.
- Monitoring travel requests and maintaining travel and training related budgets.

Successful completion of one year of full-time graduate education from an accredited college or university may substitute for the experience required at this level.
