Security Specialist; Physical​/Technical

To qualify for the GS‑11 grade level, a candidate must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑09 grade level, performing duties such as:

• Applying security principles to enterprise-wide physical security programs, including knowledge of mechanical and electronic locking devices and their integration with security systems.
• Vetting and accessing personnel authorization processes by verifying access levels and ensuring alignment with badge credential issuance.
• Demonstrating proficiency in qualitative and quantitative methods to assess program effectiveness, familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Alternatively, candidates may possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
• Or possess three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a doctorate or an LL.M that is related to this position.
• Or possess a combination of graduate education and specialized experience, where graduate education exceeds 2 full years (36 semester hours) and transcripts can be provided.

To qualify for the GS‑12 grade level, a candidate must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑11 grade level, performing duties such as:

• Applying security principles to enterprise-wide physical security programs, including knowledge of mechanical and electronic locking devices and their integration with security systems.
• Developing contracts and budgeting for security facilities and equipment.
• Vetting and accessing personnel authorization processes by verifying access levels and ensuring alignment with badge credential issuance.
• Demonstrating proficiency in qualitative and quantitative methods to assess program effectiveness, familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
