Austin Industrial is currently seeking a Sr. Welder to join our staff located at Artesia, New Mexico. They must be able to perform high-quality welds on carbon steel, low alloy, and stainless steel. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities- Operate welding equipment including plasma and air arc cutting machines
- Lay out and fabricate piping systems
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet project goals
- Weld pipe fixed at a 45-degree angle working in all positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
- Other duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Experience—5 years of Journeyman level experience
- Welders Must pass mechanical testing as part of the qualification process
- Must pass TIG 6G weld test
- Ability to handle complex, multi-position welds.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding fast paced work environment.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights over 100 feet
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must Pass Tig 6G Weld Test
- Valid Driver's License
- Must pass background, comprehensive physical, including a drug screen and safety training
- Meet physical demands as listed above
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed by the assigned location
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
