Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg​/Telemetry

Pre-Start Requirement:
Mandatory modules emailed from. ~20 hours total. Client allows billing up to 6 hours.

• 26 Beds
• Nurse:
  
  Patient Ratio – 1:3–5
• No ICU in hospital (patients transferred if higher level care needed)
• Some ICU-level patients rotate through PCU (drips, invasive monitors, very ill patients)

• Minimum 3 years MS/Tele experience (Required)
• PCU/Stepdown experience preferred
• LTAC experience a plus
• First-time travelers accepted

• Must be able to titrate drips (occasionally)
• Common drips:
  Insulin, Amiodarone, Levophed (multiple protocols)
• Must read & interpret telemetry strips
• Mindray cardiac monitors
• Ability to manage intubated patients preferred

• BLS
• ACLS

• CNAs: 1:8 ratio
• Duties:
  Vitals, ADLs, I/Os, transfers, transports, showers
• Nurses perform Accu Checks
• RT available 24/7
• Manages respiratory equipment
• Continuous BiPAP/CPAP accepted
• Night shift: 1 RT in-house

• 7A–7P or 7P–7A
• No guaranteed block scheduling
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation may apply
• No call or standby
• No floating (CNAs may float to ED for sitter shifts)

• Charge nurse takes a lighter assignment
• Travelers typically not placed in charge role
• Scrub Color:
  Navy Blue
• Orientation: 1–2 days with preceptor
• Charting System: CPSI
• Small hospital with higher-than-expected capabilities
• Working toward Level IV designation
