Our team specializes in Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR), Benzene Waste Operations NESHAP (BWON), Optical Gas Imaging (OGI), environmental monitoring, compliance management, and technical consulting services.
Position SummaryThe LDAR Auditing Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing quality systems that support PROtect's LDAR and BWON operations at the Artesia refinery. This role oversees quality management programs, training and competency development, auditing programs, Shield Analytics administration, SOP development, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
What You'll Do Quality Management & Compliance- Develop, implement, and manage project quality plans that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Create, maintain, and improve quality management policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Monitor operational activities to ensure compliance with EPA regulations, customer requirements, and internal standards.
- Lead quality inspections, audits, corrective actions, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support contract compliance efforts and assist with risk identification and mitigation activities.
- Lead new hire onboarding, training, and competency programs.
- Develop and administer written, practical, and field assessments.
- Coach, mentor, and support employee development and career progression.
- Assess employee competencies and support performance management activities.
- Schedule and coordinate required training, inspections, and qualification activities.
- Support annual LDAR business growth initiatives and operational objectives.
- Manage implementation of new systems, software enhancements, and operational processes.
- Validate new systems, workflows, documentation, and quality controls.
- Coordinate project resources, equipment needs, and operational priorities.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve efficiency, compliance, and program performance.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, workflows, and operational documentation.
- Oversee document control, calibration records, training records, and audit documentation.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for customers and company leadership.
- Support instrumentation and equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Serve as a technical resource for LDAR and BWON operations.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement and customer value enhancement.
- Coordinate with divisional leadership to share resources and support project needs.
- Manage supplier relationships for calibration gas, monitoring equipment, and leak tagging supplies.
- Maintain regular communication with the LDAR Manager and Senior Vice President of Risk & Compliance regarding project status, resource requirements, and operational concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Professional-level LDAR, environmental compliance, or related industry experience.
- Demonstrated program or project management experience.
- Experience developing training materials and conducting technical training programs.
- Experience performing quality audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong working knowledge of leak detection equipment and monitoring technologies.
- Strong understanding of EPA environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Experience supporting refinery, petrochemical, or industrial manufacturing facilities.
- Knowledge of BWON compliance programs.
- Experience with Shield Analytics or similar environmental compliance software platforms.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
