Scaffold Builder - Austin Industrial (Artesia, New Mexico)
Responsible for constructing, assembling, maintaining, and dismantling tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. Minimum 3 years of experience required in the scaffolding craft. This position may involve additional duties as assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities- Determine type of scaffold needed.
- Inspect job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
- Effectively communicate safety hazards and mitigate avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
- Transport tubular scaffold or other structural material and erect the scaffold to the required dimensions.
- Hoist scaffolding materials upward to erect temporary structure.
- Secure and level locking sections of scaffolding material properly.
- Secure scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
- Adhere to OSHA, site‑specific, and company requirements for erecting and navigating the scaffolding.
- Perform final inspection of completed scaffolding.
- Dismantle scaffolding when directed.
- Inspect and properly stow scaffolding material after dismantling.
The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 3 years of experience in scaffolding craft.
- Legally able to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship available.
- Valid state .
