Financial Controller, Financial Reporting
Own and drive the cash, capital, and assets that move through a fast-growing contract manufacturer — finance here is the engine behind every part we ship, not a back-office function.
Final Frontier Manufacturing is a precision-machining startup for space — rockets and satellites — building the factory that builds the parts. Founded in 2023, we've shipped $15M+ of product in three years, and we're scaling fast: the business is roughly doubling year over year, we're adding capacity and capability both organically and through acquisition, and we're standing up a new, larger facility.
We make high-precision, complex metal parts for the aerospace and defense industries with AS9100 rigor and a modern hardware, software, and automation stack — and we're part of a larger effort to reindustrialize U.S. manufacturing.
A contract manufacturer runs serious cash and capital through it every day — raw material and inventory, work in process, machines and tooling, customer billings and vendor payments. Owning that is every bit as important as production, quality, or engineering. We're looking for someone to own and drive it: not just keep the books, but be the person accountable for how cash and assets flow through the business, what every job actually costs, and the judgment that protects margin as we scale.
This is a rare moment to step in and own the financial engine of a company that's multiplying in size — the systems and discipline you build now are what let us grow without losing the thread.
We run lean, and we bring the same forward-thinking approach to the back office that we bring to the floor. You'll be hands‑on and in the books daily — not sitting on top of a team delegating tasks — working shoulder‑to‑shoulder with production and purchasing. If you want to own the financial engine of a fast‑growing aerospace manufacturer and be a real partner to the crew doing the work, this is that opportunity.
Whatyou’ll do
Own the full AP and AR cycle hands‑on — billing, vendor payments, collections — and the daily transaction processing behind it.
Run the monthly close and produce timely, accurate financial statements the team can actually run the business on.
Own job costing with our outside advisors — so we know what every job truly costs and can protect margin as volume grows.
Be the financial hub for the business: partner with production to manage purchase orders and keep procurement flowing, track spend against budgets, and flag variances early.
Steward cash and working capital — billings, collections, vendor terms, and the material and WIP tied up on the floor.
Serve as the go‑to finance contact for operating teams — translating the numbers into decisions they can act on.
Support payroll and benefits: coordinate payroll processing and related reporting, and help administer and reconcile employee benefits.
Be our power user on the toolsWe bring the same forward‑thinking approach to our back office that we bring to the floor: we're building AI‑powered accounting tools internally, and you'll be the first and most important user of them.
Use and stress‑test the AI‑powered accounting workflows we're building, and tell us what's working and what isn't.
Spot the repetitive, manual work that's ripe for automation and help us prioritize it.
Grow with the function as more of the routine work becomes managed‑and‑reviewed rather than hand‑entered — so you can focus on oversight and judgment. You won't engineer these tools, but your day‑to‑day experience and feedback will directly shape what we automate and how.
What we’re looking forYou see accounting as a means to an end — a clear, accurate financial picture that lets the company deploy cash and capital wisely. You like modern tools, you adopt new ones quickly, and the idea of automating the busywork excites you rather than worries you. You’d rather do the work yourself and partner closely across teams than manage from a distance.
7+ years of accounting experience in corporate and/or small‑business environments.
A track record of owning an accounting function — or being clearly ready to step up and own one. A prior Controller title is a plus, but we care more that you can…
