Compensation: $65,000–$70,000 annually
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Reconciliation Specialist to join their accounting team on-site in Arvada. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys account reconciliations, month-end close, and solving complex accounting discrepancies.
This role will focus on bringing several balance sheet accounts up to date, completing month-end close activities, preparing journal entries, and ensuring financial records are accurate as the organization works through a backlog of reconciliations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in Excel, enjoys investigative accounting work, and can quickly adapt to a legacy ERP system.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform balance sheet and account reconciliations to support the month-end close process.
Reconcile multiple general ledger accounts and ensure balances are accurate and properly supported.
Prepare and post journal entries related to reconciliation adjustments.
Analyze transactions and investigate discrepancies between the general ledger and supporting documentation.
Utilize Excel reconciliation schedules to organize and document account activity.
Pull reports from the company's ERP system and compare activity to reconciliation work papers.
Work closely with Accounting Leadership to prioritize outstanding reconciliation items and maintain accurate financial records.
Assist in cleaning up historical reconciliation backlogs while keeping current month-end activities on schedule.
Maintain organized documentation and provide clear audit support for completed reconciliations.
Identify process improvement opportunities to create more efficient reconciliation procedures.
3+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on reconciliations and month-end close.
Experience preparing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Comfortable learning and working within legacy accounting or ERP systems.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or small business accounting environments.
Experience working with JobBOSS/E2, legacy ERP systems, or similar accounting software.
Familiarity with Quick Books is a plus, as the organization plans to transition to Quick Books in the future.
On-site in Arvada, CO.
Summer schedule currently operates Monday–Thursday (4x10-hour shifts) with Fridays off.
Flexible scheduling is available, including an alternative Monday–Friday schedule for the right candidate.
Typical start time ranges between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM, depending on the agreed-upon schedule.
