THE POSITION
The Youth Ministry office is primarily ministry and mission oriented, with the mission of leading all souls to Christ. We provide leadership and oversight for youth, including sacraments. The work of the Administrative Assistant consists of supporting the Director of Youth Ministry with data management, communications, coordination, and scheduling. Currently, this position is part-time, not eligible for benefits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Maintain calendars/schedules- Director of Youth Ministry, appointments & meetings
- Coordination with Parish Scheduler/Calendar
- Youth Group Calendar
- Oversee enrollment communication and data
- Communications, Flock Notes, SMS, etc.
- Statistics, records, maintaining electronic filing systems
- Coordinate and track VIRTUS, safe environment compliance
- Manage paperwork for volunteers
Schedule and promote events - Perform shopping tasks, including pickup, for Youth Ministry
- Inquire on information & book retreat centers
- Build retreat registrations
- Coordinate bus/transportation for retreats
- Weekly meetings with The Director of Youth Ministry
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience supporting staff involved with Youth Ministry environment, preferred
- Must pass pre-employment background screening.
- Must comply with the Archdiocese of Denver Code of Conduct Safe Environment Training requirements.
- Must be in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC ).
- Must refrain from promotion of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals.
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
- Proper telephone etiquette.
- Superior organizational skills.
- Must be able to easily multi-task.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, especially Excel.
- Creative skills with project management including ability to use or learn
- Position requires the ability to frequently lift/move objects of up to ten (10) pounds in weight and occasionally lift/move objects of up to twenty-five (25) pounds in weight.
- Position involves office work and the operation of office equipment (computers, laptops, copiers, phones, printers) requiring manual dexterity.
- Talk and hear over 75% of the time.
- Position involves sedentary office work.
- 15 hrs. per week (11:00 a.m.
- 2:00 p.m.), with some flexibility - Scheduled work hours may be extended during periods of high program activity (with advanced notice, and prior approval)
- Hourly, non-exempt
$17.00 -$20.00 per hour
