Position: Preschool Teacher Canon City School District Fremont Re-1

July 31 st for the  School Year

Salary:
Pay for this position is determined by the Instructional Support Salary Schedule $20.32-$21.94/hour OR 169-day Teacher Salary Schedule and based on education and experience. Starting salary range is $44,739-$75,161.. for staff with a BA and proper licensing (Director Certification or ability to obtain in the first year).

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or Associate's in a program actively working toward a degree required
  • Colorado Department of Education Teaching License in Early Childhood preferred.
  • PDIS level 3 credential or eligible to obtain the credential required
  • Must pass CDEC fingerprinting and background checks in addition to district background.
  • 3-5 years experience preferred and knowledge of Teaching Strategies GOLD preferred.
  • Teacher must qualify as a Group Leader, meeting the Colorado Department of Human Services Licensing Rules and Regulations.
  • Teacher/Early Childhood Director must meet Colorado Department of Human Services Licensing Rules and Regulations for Teacher and Early Childhood Director.
  • Must complete First Aid and Infant, Child and Adult CPR training within 60 days of hire and maintain as required.
  • Trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention techniques or willingness to be trained.
  • Some Saturday training may be required.

Other Criteria:

  • Criminal background check required for hire.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a school atmosphere with staff members, students and the public.
  • Ability to effectively read, write, speak and listen to comply with directions and instructions to complete tasks and establish priorities.
  • Integrity, trust and work ethic to be able to work with little supervision.
  • Competent understanding of technology to perform the job.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical.
  • Ability to perform light lifting and moving of product (up to 50lbs).
  • Implements appropriate physical and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of district data.
  • Maintains good security practices with passwords and accounts to the various district systems and applications.
  • Reports actual or suspected breaches in the confidentiality, integrity or availability of district data to appropriate district personnel.
  • Follows all board policies for acceptable use of district technology.
  • Model the District's Mission and Belief Statements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Teachers are held to high expectations for their performance to ensure the success of the individual and the District in serving students and the community. Teachers are held to the District’s Licensed Personnel Performance Evaluation System that consists of the State’s Quality Standards , elements, and performance indicators which point to fulfillment of the teaching responsibility. A teacher’s demonstrated effectiveness is based on the following standards:
