Middle School Math Teacher Custer County Schools

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Math Teacher to inspire students and foster a strong foundation in mathematical thinking. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, supportive learning environment that encourages problem-solving, critical thinking, and academic growth for students in grades 6–8.

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction appropriate for middle school learners
• Develop lesson plans that incorporate a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, projects, and informal evaluations, and provide timely feedback
• Use data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and collaboration
• Integrate technology and real-world applications to enhance math learning
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress and expectations
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
• Uphold school policies and support the school’s mission and values

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Valid teaching certification/licensure for middle school or secondary education (as required by state)
• Strong knowledge of middle school math curriculum and standards
• Effective classroom management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners

• Passion for teaching and working with middle school students
• Commitment to continuous professional growth
• Experience using educational technology and digital learning tools
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to a team-oriented environment
• Classroom-based, full-time position
• May include occasional after-school meetings, tutoring, or school events

School year  salary schedule will be available in the summer 2026.

The position start date will be finalized once we have the finalized school calendar for 2026-27.
