Overview
The Middle School Earth and/or Life Science Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction that fosters curiosity about the natural world. This position involves developing and implementing hands-on lessons in earth and life science, supporting diverse learners, and promoting critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and environmental awareness. The teacher collaborates with colleagues, communicates regularly with families, and maintains a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports both academic and social-emotional growth.
Familiarity with Colorado Academic Standards and a commitment to student-centered learning are essential.

- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Personalize learning for all students and differentiate instruction based on student mastery.
- Demonstrate belief in all students’ ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
- Augment course content according to policies and procedures using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from principal and coach.
- Maintain grade book, monitor student progress, and communicate with families in a timely manner.
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and learning coaches/parents and respond to inquiries promptly.
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom.
- Travel as required for face-to-face professional development, student testing, or as required by the school (approximately 20% of the time).
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and use student data to drive instructional decisions.
- receptivity to coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms quickly.
- Ability to maintain teaching certification and professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems and curriculum.
- Experience with the proposed age group.
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
- Experience teaching in online (virtual) and/or brick-and-mortar environments.
- Experience with online learning platforms.
Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
- Exempt (salary):
Post annual salary - We anticipate the salary range to be $48,752.00 - $60,940.00. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors.
