Develop coursework to support effective instruction in Engineering and Technology at the school level. Effectively deliver instruction that promotes an exemplary educational program and ensures success for all students.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstructors are expected to deliver instruction and support student learning, manage classroom environment, assess student progress, collaborate with staff, and participate in professional development.
- Instruct students in large, small, and one‑on‑one settings.
- Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, schedules, individualized programs, classroom materials, curriculum, lesson plans, and learning activities.
- Administer, edit, proofread, and grade student assignments and assessments.
- Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in diverse ways and use data to provide meaningful feedback and modify instruction; develop skills‑based curriculum aligned to the CTE content area.
- Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise behavior and well‑being, and administer discipline when appropriate.
- Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs.
- Communicate student progress, needs, and eligibility with parents/guardians and other staff as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes; maintain CTE compliance required by the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) and Cherry Creek School District, including committee assemblies, advising student organizations, teaching progressively sequenced courses, etc.
- Participate in department, team, building, and District meetings; student and family conferences; social, cultural, interscholastic, extracurricular activities; and professional growth opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
- Student teaching/practicum/internship/industry experience that meets or exceeds Colorado's requirements
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license in content area or Career and Technical Education (CTE) Authorization in content area
- Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Basic classroom management and planning skills
- Basic organizational skills
- Intermediate verbal and written communication and interpersonal relations skills
- Ability to align curriculum and assessments with state content standards
- Ability to support programs designed to increase student achievement
- Ability to assume leadership in the development and communication of programs and curriculum
- Ability and desire to work as a team member
- Ability to actively participate in a Professional Learning Community
- Ability to understand, appreciate, and make accommodations for student diversity
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
- Ability to serve as a role model and an innovative and creative learner with an insatiable thirst for knowledge that stays on the cutting edge of instructional practice and pedagogy
- Light work strength level (lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds)

- Three (3) years of successful industry or teaching experience in CTE content area
- Experience working in the public sector
- Experience advising school clubs/co‑curricular activities
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
