Position

The Technical Trainer is responsible for delivering and facilitating high-impact training programs for manufacturing and electrical assembly employees, with a focus on new hire onboarding and ongoing workforce development. This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in technical training and works under guidance and in collaboration with the Technical Training Coordinator who oversees planning and administration of training programs.

Hours: M-F
-7:30 - 4:30 in house

Pay Range: $59,000.00 - $70,000.00 Yr.

Key Responsibilities New Hire Training
  • Deliver structured new hire training for new hires, introducing Code Orange values, safety protocols, quality standards, and production processes.
  • Facilitate hands‑on Skills Lab onboarding modules to ensure employees build foundational workmanship skills before entering production.
  • Support development of personalized new hire training plans, balancing learning with production demands.
  • Partner with HR and Production Leads to ensure onboarding aligns with compliance, cultural integration, and role‑specific readiness.
Training Program Facilitation & Delivery
  • Act as the primary facilitator for the Skills Lab and onboarding, providing structured hands‑on instruction.
  • Deliver technical training using instructor‑led, simulation‑based, role‑playing, and hands‑on methods.
  • Ensure training aligns with industry best practices, company safety protocols, and operational standards.
  • Deliver training tied to the Kratos Skills Matrix, ensuring employees progress across defined competency levels (Novice ? Expert).
  • Collaborate with department leads, engineers, and production teams to ensure content reflects operational needs.
  • Adapt approaches to different learning styles and skill levels.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to reinforce skills application in the workplace.
  • Support integration of eLearning and blended learning modules in Litmos or other LMS platforms.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
  • Assess trainee progress through hands‑on demonstrations, written quizzes, and Skills Matrix evaluations.
  • Document training completion and provide feedback to the Technical Training Coordinator.
  • Gather feedback from learners and incorporate continuous improvement into course design and delivery.
Collaboration & Culture
  • Partner with the Technical Training Coordinator to align training programs with workforce development goals.
  • Work closely with Production Leads, Engineers, and HR to ensure training supports manufacturing efficiency and safety.
  • Coordinate with designated floor trainers to ensure consistency in training delivery, reinforce Skills Lab lessons on the production floor, and provide ongoing support for mentorship and coaching.
  • Reinforce Kratos Code Orange values, fostering professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Maintain a safety‑first mindset, ensuring all training aligns with OSHA, UL, and company safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering—or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in Engineering, Production, or Technical Training.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience with LEAN/Continuous Improvement.
  • Foundational knowledge of low‑voltage power distribution and wiring practices.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across diverse groups and roles.
