English Language Arts Teacher

Forge Christian High School is seeking qualified, passionate followers of Jesus to join our team. Our curriculum team sets the standard for educational development, processes, and qualifications to prepare students for the next stage in their educational careers. We must create an encouraging teaching environment for all students and plan to adjust as the needs of students shift and develop. We strive to exceed industry standards to create a legacy of exceptional well-rounded students both academically and spiritually.

Our teachers are responsible for efficiently and successfully meeting the educational needs of all students in a manner that promotes excellence and develops a Biblical worldview. Teachers will act timely and professionally under the completion of various administrative and curricular tasks required by the Head of School and included in the summative review tool. Teachers shall encourage and foster the spiritual and educational wellbeing of all students.

Primary responsibilities include living out a daily, authentic relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrating grace, truth, and spiritual maturity in all areas of life and work; discerning and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit throughout the school day; integrating Scripture, biblical truths, and practical application into all subject areas; developing and implementing comprehensive curriculum plans for assigned courses; engaging in ongoing curriculum development in collaboration with school leadership and fellow educators;

utilizing research-based instructional strategies; leveraging technology thoughtfully as a supplemental tool to enhance instruction and student engagement; employing both formative and summative assessments to monitor and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and styles; interpreting and analyzing student performance data to inform instructional decisions and interventions; applying appropriate intervention strategies for students in need; submitting attendance and grades punctually;

demonstrating professionalism, resourcefulness, and excellence in the areas of time management, problem solving, communication, team building, creativity, and decision-making; participating in the school's continuous improvement efforts; attending all required faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities; and communicating effectively and respectfully with students, parents, and fellow staff members to build strong, Christ-centered relationships.

Other responsibilities include instructing students during routine drills and live situations; taking attendance each class period; and meeting measurable goals such as formal and drop-in observations, review of parent and/or student feedback surveys, annual summative review, educational needs of all students, implementation and growth strategies, timely and professional completion of various administrative and curricular tasks, and entering a minimum of 2.5 grades per week into the gradebook.

Position requirements include a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ, servant leadership, a bachelor's degree in English, Literature, or a related field, a master's degree in English, English Education, Literature, or a related field preferred, current ACSI certification or state teaching license required, 1-3 years of English or Literature teaching experience, competency in all academic areas assigned to teach, excellent relational skills, alignment with and ability to clearly support the school's mission, vision, and goals, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, ability to maintain confidentiality, excellent verbal and written communication skills, highly organized with strong attention to detail, ability to multitask and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment, and a proactive, service-oriented approach with a commitment to excellence.
