Part-Time Licensed Preschool Director
The Part-Time Licensed Preschool Director will oversee the preschool's daily operations, ensure compliance with State Licensing Regulations, and State Health Department Regulations to create a nurturing and educational environment for young children. This role involves administrative duties, staff supervision, and engaging with parents and the community. 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Key Responsibilities- Administrative Oversight:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the preschool, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Ensure the preschool meets all state licensing requirements and maintains necessary certifications.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures in line with state regulations and best practices.
- Staff Supervision:
- Recruit, train, and supervise preschool staff, including teachers and support personnel.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive work environment and address any staff issues or concerns.
- Curriculum and Program Development:
- Oversee the development and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum and educational activities as outlined in the Early Learning Development Guidelines.
- Ensure that the curriculum aligns with educational standards and meets the developmental needs of children.
- Evaluate and update programs based on feedback from staff, parents, and children.
- Parent and Community Engagement:
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress, preschool events, and any concerns.
- Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and community outreach activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and local resources.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure the preschool environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning.
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols, including emergency procedures and sanitation practices.
- Address any health or safety issues promptly and in compliance with regulations.
- Financial Management:
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning, including managing tuition and other revenue streams.
- Oversee purchasing and inventory of educational materials and supplies.
- Must be 21 years old.
- Licensure:
Valid state Preschool Director or Administrator License, or Level 2 or higher in PDIS and/or State Small Center Director Credentials - Skills:
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community members. - Knowledge:
Understanding of early childhood development principles, state licensing requirements, and best practices in preschool education
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or a related field;
Master's degree preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, including at least 1 year in a leadership or administrative role.
- Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, snow, and humidity.
- Noise levels range from moderate to loud, often due to active children, group interactions, or busy transportation settings.
- The position may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, chemically treated water, or other environmental irritants.
- Work may occur in environments with poor acoustics, distractions, or high activity levels.
- Occasional travel by vehicle may be required, with exposure to traffic, road construction, and varying road conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or sit on the floor as needed during activities or tasks.
- Ability to reach, grasp, and handle small objects, tools, or equipment with precision.
- Ability to climb, crawl, or maneuver in tight spaces to complete maintenance or activity-related tasks.
- Requires adequate hearing to recognize and respond to sounds, signals, or distress in a variety of environments.
- Ability to maintain balance and coordination while assisting with physical activities or working on uneven terrain.
