Responsibilities
  • Provide knowledge of and conduct work activities in compliance with ABB HSE (Health, Safety and Environment), ABB Way, and Safety Manual & Safety policy at all times.
  • Execute projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment such as transformers, switch gear, OCBs, circuit breakers, busways, UPS, ATS, PLCs, relays, power management control systems and other power‑related equipment & controls.
  • Lead outages with other field engineers, technicians, and contractors, including project management and acting as lead site engineer or site project manager. Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, customer reports, timesheets and expense sheets on a timely, thorough basis.
  • Plan, organize, and perform multifunctional field assignments in designated areas, directing the work of other field engineers and craft labor as required, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, maintaining recognized industry standards for engineering ability.
  • Plan, prepare, and/or instruct internal and external training programs as required to impart and perpetuate field engineering and/or product knowledge in the area of specialization.
  • Perform administrative functions in a timely manner related to your work; such tasks include writing technical reports, ordering necessary materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, customer reports, timesheets, expense tracking sheets, and cost control activities.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years relevant field engineering experience.
  • Technical skills in testing of power distribution and delivery, including low voltage and medium voltage breakers, switch gear, relays, and transformers. Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers (OEM equipment such as Siemens, GE, ABB, Square

    D, Multilin relays, and Schweitzer Relays).
  • Experience in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines (including excitation systems), control systems and programmable logic controllers is a plus.
  • Up to 75% domestic travel.
  • Knowledge of industrial customer base in the geographic area.
  • Unable to sponsor an employment visa at this time. Candidates must already have work authorization that permits them to work for ABB in the US.
Benefits

Salary range: $79,800 – $127,680 annually.
