Arvada Office – Arvada, CO 80003. Salary Range: $89,000 –$105,721 per year.

Summary

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of electrical systems used in automated car wash equipment. This role ensures that power distribution, control systems, sensors, motors, and communication networks operate safely, reliably, and efficiently in demanding, high-volume wash environments. Working closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, quality, and field service teams, the Electrical Engineer translates system requirements into robust electrical designs that meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards while supporting continuous product improvement.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts for car wash equipment, including PLC-based control systems, motor drives, sensors, and actuators.
  • Select and specify electrical components such as PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, relays, power supplies, motors, and safety devices.
  • Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, UL, CE, and relevant local or environmental regulations).
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering to ensure proper integration of electrical and mechanical systems within equipment designs.
  • Support manufacturing by providing clear build documentation, troubleshooting electrical issues on the production floor, and assisting with first article builds.
  • Develop and execute electrical testing and validation plans, including functional testing, safety testing, and failure analysis.
  • Investigate field issues and equipment failures using structured problem-solving methodologies and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, simplify wiring, reduce cost, and improve manufacturability.
  • Assist field service and technical support teams with advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering within an industrial, automation, or heavy equipment manufacturing environment.
Functional / Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, control circuits, and grounding.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, motors, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Ability to read, create, and maintain electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Familiarity with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and certification requirements.
  • Hands‑on troubleshooting skills for electrical and control system issues.
  • Proficiency with engineering documentation tools and Microsoft Office; experience with electrical CAD software preferred.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into clear, actionable instructions for manufacturing and service teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and diverse groups of people.
