Postdoctoral Researcher – PFAS Remedial Technology Engineering Center
Colorado School of Mines is seeking postdoctoral researchers to evaluate and validate remediation techniques for per‑and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in groundwater, soil, wastewater, and biosolids.
Primary Responsibilities- Lead independent research activities in collaboration with faculty advisors.
- Participate in weekly research meetings and larger project team meetings, supporting project reporting to sponsors.
- Conduct bench‑ or pilot‑scale laboratory experiments related to PFAS treatment technologies.
- Perform comprehensive reviews of PFAS treatment technology performance and readiness.
- Assist in managing a research group of graduate students.
- Write scientific publications, reports, policy briefs, and guidelines.
- Support and/or lead the preparation and submission of proposals for future research funding.
- Present findings at regional and national conferences and workshops.
- Mentor graduate students with guidance that supplements faculty advisor support.
- Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Geosciences, or related field.
- Completed Ph.D. by the start date of position.
- Experience with laboratory experiments and environmental chemical analysis.
- Ability to conduct appropriate statistical analysis of experimental data.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
- Experience with per‑and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs).
- Experience with environmental chemistry laboratory experiments.
- Strong publication record in refereed journals.
- Experience in pilot‑scale testing of treatment technologies or economic analysis of environmental technologies.
- Conduct appropriate statistical analysis of experimental data.
- Work independently.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
- Annual salary $62,000–$65,000.
