Postdoctoral Researcher – PFAS Remedial Technology Engineering Center

Colorado School of Mines is seeking postdoctoral researchers to evaluate and validate remediation techniques for per‑and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in groundwater, soil, wastewater, and biosolids.

• Lead independent research activities in collaboration with faculty advisors.
• Participate in weekly research meetings and larger project team meetings, supporting project reporting to sponsors.
• Conduct bench‑ or pilot‑scale laboratory experiments related to PFAS treatment technologies.
• Perform comprehensive reviews of PFAS treatment technology performance and readiness.
• Assist in managing a research group of graduate students.
• Write scientific publications, reports, policy briefs, and guidelines.
• Support and/or lead the preparation and submission of proposals for future research funding.
• Present findings at regional and national conferences and workshops.
• Mentor graduate students with guidance that supplements faculty advisor support.

• Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Geosciences, or related field.
• Completed Ph.D. by the start date of position.
• Experience with laboratory experiments and environmental chemical analysis.
• Ability to conduct appropriate statistical analysis of experimental data.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.

• Experience with per‑and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs).
• Experience with environmental chemistry laboratory experiments.
• Strong publication record in refereed journals.
• Experience in pilot‑scale testing of treatment technologies or economic analysis of environmental technologies.

• Conduct appropriate statistical analysis of experimental data.
• Work independently.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.

• Annual salary $62,000–$65,000.
