We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team, focused on the design and development of medium-voltage switch gear systems. This role involves creating and maintaining detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and manufacturing documentation using CAD tools. You'll play a key role in the product lifecycle, collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams to deliver reliable and efficient power distribution equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings for MV switch gear components.
- Design custom sheet metal parts, busbars, and enclosure assemblies per project requirements.
- Generate and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering change orders, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve design issues and implement redlines from the shop floor.
- Interpret project specifications, industry standards (e.G., UL 891), and customer requirements to ensure compliance.
- Support the creation of project documentation and production assets.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an associate degree with 2+ years of relevant design experience.
Proficient in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred; Solid Works acceptable).
Experience designing sheet metal and copper busbar components.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and DFM principles.
Ability to create detailed, production-ready drawings and technical documentation.
Preferred ExperienceBackground in medium-voltage switch gear or switchboard design.
Knowledge of UL 891, ISO 9001, and lean manufacturing principles.
Familiarity with ERP systems and engineering change workflows.
Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
