Switchgear Electrical Estimator

About the Role:
As a Switchgear Electrical Estimator, you'll be responsible for developing accurate, detailed cost estimates for medium and high-voltage switch gear and related equipment. You will work closely with engineering, sales, and project management teams to prepare bids that meet project requirements and drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review technical specifications, one-line diagrams, and project plans to determine switch gear requirements.
- Develop detailed material and labor cost estimates for switch gear systems (e.g., switchboards, panel boards, motor control centers, transfer switches).
- Prepare RFQs and coordinate with suppliers/manufacturers to obtain accurate pricing and lead times.
- Use internal tools for proposals.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and post-bid reviews to clarify scope, compliance, and pricing strategy.
- Collaborate with internal engineering and procurement teams to ensure proposal accuracy and feasibility.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating, with specific experience in switch gear systems.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, NEC/NFPA codes, and UL requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, specifications, and submittal packages.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
[Preferred] Associate's or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
