As a Mechanical Engineer I, you will support the design, development, testing, and deployment of mechanical structures and systems in the aerospace and defense sectors. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. ** Responsibilities:
*** Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems.
* Support the creation and execution of test plans for mechanical products.
* Perform basic analyses and simulations to validate designs.
* Prepare technical documentation and reports for review.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design requirements are met.
* Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design and testing issues.  
** Qualifications You Must Have:
*** Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
* 0-2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related role.
* Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
* Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
* Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
* Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
* Ability to obtain and maintain United States secret security clearance  
** Qualifications We Prefer:
*** Internship or project experience in aerospace or defense industry.
* Familiarity with applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
* Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes.
* Knowledge of environmental requirements for components utilized in aircraft and space applications.

* Essential Functions:

*** Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
* Occasional travel may be required.
* Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
* Applying systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to develop mechanical designs.
* Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management.
* Ability to understand technical documents, designs and test reports.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $71,338.47 - $98,090.40. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
