Position: EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties The primary purpose of this position is to develop, review, coordinate and execute the wing's Emergency Management (EM) program plan in support of DOD, Joint Service, Air Force, MAJCOM, ANG, Numbered Air Force, federal, state, and county plans in the area(s) of Prevention, Protection, Mitigation, Response, and Recovery. The position develops, manages and executes the wing EM programs, ensuring effective prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery operations to allow continued mission capability at the wing level.

Develops, coordinates, obtains approval, and publishes plans and procedures for implementation of wing policies and instructions relating to Emergency Management (EM). Conducts wing EM assessments; interprets and analyzes assessment results. Conducts initial and recurring training programs for EM functional areas. Serves as Emergency Operations Center Manager under the direction of the EOC Director. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. * May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
* Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
* Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard.
* Must hold the grade of E-6 thru E-8.
* Submit all required documentation.
* For positions requiring the operation for motor vehicle, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
* For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
* Position is required to maintain classified documents; therefore, requires a security clearance.
* Must have successfully completed, or be able to complete within six (6) months of appointment to position, the Air Force Emergency Management Course.
* Must possess or obtain, within six months of appointment to position, hazardous materials level training certifications through (IFSAC) or Pro Board Fire Service Professional Qualifications System Awareness, Operations, and Technician.
* May be required to be certified on and wear emergency protective equipment IAW DOD guidance.
* Must have successfully completed technical military training school basic EM Apprentice course and the CBRN Responders Course. Qualifications Military Grades: E-6 - E-8 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. Resume must be two pages or less. 3.

It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience. 4. If education or a degree is required as part of the "Specialized Experience", you must include transcripts. DO NOT copy each bullet listed below word for word and place into your resume; you must describe your personal experience as it pertains to each bullet.

You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have Specialized Experience in each of the following :
Competent in writing, designing, formatting, publishing, and presenting specific EM program assigned work to peers and immediate supervisors at workshops or special committee meetings. Knowledge is mandatory of the characteristics and effects of peacetime WMD and wartime conventional and CBRN weapons; detection and identification of CBRN contamination; threat analysis; passive defense measures; principles of contamination control; related technical information, policies, procedures, techniques, and equipment;

and EM and contingency planning, training, operations, equipment supply procedures, directives, and policies. Working knowledge is required in how to develop, coordinate, obtain approval, and publish plans and procedures for implementation of installation policies and instructions relating to Emergency Management (EM). Knowledge of emergency management and related directives, policies, regulations, procedures, and methods; and the collaboration and fostering of relationships between Federal, State, Tribal, and local governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the private sector, and their response mechanisms and authorities.

Experiences involve providing hazardous materials (HAZMAT) responses for unknown or suspect CBRN incidents; or in coordinating actions to ensure prompt response during EM operations including immediate mobilization of resources and participation of agencies and organizations. Experiences and skills are needed in operating a mobile communications center to provide a command and control platform for the Incident Commander. Knowledge in working an integrated CBRN detection, warning, and reporting system.
