Training AND Exercise Program Specialist Security Clearance

Position: TRAINING AND EXERCISE PROGRAM SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties
* Responsible for the development of CCMD-level policy for all aspects of VIGILANT SHIELD, VITAL ARCHER, ARDENT SENTRY, and/or NUWAIX.
* Establishes, maintains, and executes the executes the exercise planning schedule for the Commands' Tier 1 and Tier 2, JEP-designated exercises, to include scheduling all conferences, meetings, in-progress reviews, and secure video teleconferences.
* As a NORAD and USNORTHCOM Domain Exercise Controller of the Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG), acts as the key domain exercise observer/controller, managing and directing, up to 200, co-located and geographically dispersed binational personnel during NORAD and USNORTHCOM exercises and other supported Joint and Combined exercises. * A Top Secret/Special Sensitive clearance is required for this position. The employee is required to possess and maintain a Top Secret/Special Sensitive as condition of employment.

* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
* Will be occasionally required to work holidays, weekends, and non-standard hours to support military operations. Required to be on phone recall and 2 hour standby.
* The employee may be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evening, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be required to work overtime.
* In the performance of assigned duties, employees use tact, diplomacy, and professionalism to promote effective working relationships with a variety of offices and agencies.
* Work requires a substantial amount of travel away from the normal duty station, including transportation by military and/or commercial aircraft.
* YA002 = Eligible for situational telework only, including Ad hoc, Emergency, or OPM prescribed "Unscheduled" Telework. This eligibility is separate and distinct from the employee's eligibility.
* A civilian employee's telework arrangement may be terminated at the discretion of the supervisor or at the employee's request.
* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: (1) skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to complex issues concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of Joint Training Program; (2) extensive knowledge of current military law, joint doctrine, join plans, policies, and practices;

(3) extensive knowledge of military all-domain (e.g., air, land, maritime, cyber, space) and multi-functional (SOF, Defensive Cyber Operations, etc.) concepts and principles; DOD military command and control operations, command and control of air, land maritime, cyber SOF and space forces, geographical areas of responsibility as it pertains to the Combatant Commands, air land maritime, cyber, SOF and space combat operations at both the operational and strategic levels of war and DSCA;

(4) thorough knowledge of homeland defense and civil support activities, operations and exercises as used by DOD, the Joint Staff, other Combatant Commands, the Services, and Combat Support Agencies. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
