Position Overview

Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) seeks a Systems Administrator & Integrator on the Global Positioning System (GPS) IIF program within our Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) division located at Schriever Space Force Base, about 10 miles east of Colorado Springs.

GPS is a satellite‑based radio‑navigation system owned by the United States government and operated by the United States Space Force. Our team supports the U.S. Space Force by sustaining and monitoring the health and capabilities of the 12 GPS Block IIF satellites, under a 10‑year sustainment contract from 2022 to 2031.

Position Responsibilities
  • Perform configuration management, system integration, and reliability of hardware and software, including installation, repairs, configuration, and maintenance of domain system components.
  • Provide problem resolution and technical support for classified systems.
  • Support maintenance, reliability, validation, and configuration management of computing delivery systems.
  • Maintain and monitor system performance to improve GPS operational mission reliability.
  • Integrate logistics, automation, data analytics, technological advances, and engineering to support the mission while meeting modern cybersecurity requirements.
  • Leverage Git Lab administration and automation.
  • Perform data integrity functions in a medium‑sized Windows Enterprise Domain architecture.
  • Analyze, develop, and maintain automation and scripting tools to improve system administration efficiencies.
  • Install, configure, monitor, and maintain multi‑platform systems, hardware, software, virtual machines, and components.
  • Support real‑time satellite mission and offline test efforts, ensuring the system conforms to mission requirements.
  • Assist in disaster recovery actions, including planning, backup and restoration of complex computing service operations and vulnerability management.
  • Perform and assist in administrative tasks related to the system such as technical writing, documentation, cybersecurity, and configuration management audits.

This position is fully onsite at Schriever SFB, CO and requires navigating the military base worksite.

Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • Active (interim or final) Secret or higher U.S. Security Clearance with U.S. citizenship. A clearance active within the past 24 months is considered active.
  • At least 1 year of related experience.
  • Current Security+ (Sec+) certification or other current DoD 8140 (formerly 8570) approved baseline certification.
  • If not within commuting distance, willingness and ability to relocate at own expense.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Basic proficiency in hardware repair.
  • Troubleshooting and restoration of computing service operations.
  • Commercial Off‑the‑Shelf (COTS) software installation and support.
  • Active Directory/LDAP experience.
  • Cybersecurity vulnerability resolution.
  • Networking/Cisco IOS experience.
  • Experience integrating cybersecurity solutions into information systems.
  • LAN and database configuration, management, and maintenance.
  • Cybersecurity scanning, monitoring, analysis, and resolution.
  • RHEL 8 (or higher) System Administration.
  • Virtualization (VMWare, Hyper‑V) and storage array experience.
  • Trellix or HBSS or equivalent endpoint tool experience.
Education & Experience

Associate (Level
2):
Typically 2+ years related work experience or equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Experienced (Level
3):
Typically 5+ years related work experience or equivalent combination of advanced education and experience.

Additional Requirements
  • Must satisfy Boeing’s Conflict of Interest assessment process.
  • Drug‑free workplace; applicants subject to testing as per policy.
  • U.S. export control compliance: U.S. person required (citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
  • Relocation assistance not provided.
  • Must obtain U.S. Security Clearance; interim Top Secret required pre‑start and final Top Secret post‑start.

Pay & Benefits

Associate (Level
2): $91,800 - $124,200

Experienced (Level
3): $112,200 - $151,800
