Basic Qualifications
- Active Final SECRET clearance required prior to starting
- Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
- Hands‑on experience with hyperconverged on‑prem cloud platform such as VMware or Nutanix AHV
- Familiarity with IDAM concepts and tools (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, SSO) to create security groups, projects and enforce least‑privilege access to VMs and services
- Experience with Linux systems administration
- Proven ability to administer Kubernetes clusters including deployments, upgrades, scaling, and decommissioning
- Experience supporting users in an enterprise‑level system, demonstrating ability to handle complex technical issues and provide effective solutions
Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2
BMC) Experimentation Lab (X‑LAB), is engineering, developing and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team consists of many small, agile teams that work together in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment, responsible for Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security and enhancing other critical, leading‑edge missile defense technologies.
Work
As a Cloud Technologies Administrator for the C2
BMC Experimentation Lab (X‑Lab) at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC), Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining a large virtualization solution spread across multiple remote sites. This environment includes virtualization hypervisor platforms, remote virtual desktop infrastructure, direct user‑experience technologies, and monitoring solutions for virtual infrastructure. Your expertise will help enable rapid, reliable testing of command‑and‑control capabilities while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists.

- This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.
- This position is located at Schriever, Space Force Base, 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO and is 100% onsite.
- This position may involve some travel to customer sites throughout the U.S. and may occasionally support test events that occur off‑hours (overnight or on weekends).

Together, this national team supports the design, development, test, integration and fielding of hardware and software elements that enable the Missile Defense System (MDS) to function effectively and continually.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced candidate to join our team. The successful candidate will need to utilize good communication skills and good organizational skills to facilitate collaboration across the many organizations necessary to accomplish challenging missions.
Desired Skills- Thorough understanding and experience with Nutanix Prism/AHV on‑premise cloud platform
- Experience with on‑premise multi‑tenant environment using role‑based administrative controls (RBAC) for least privilege
- Experience with maximizing infrastructure uptime while maintaining a complaint and patched hypervisor platform
- Some experience with administration of an Active Directory environment
- Capacity tracking for virtual resources usage to properly plan for future expansion in a multi‑tenant environment
- Experience with automation platforms, such as Nutanix Calm, VMWare vRealize Automation, or others
- Comfortable with using network/system health tracking solutions, such as Solar Winds, for monitoring system health for both virtual infrastructure and hardware health
