• Testing and Validation:
  Responsible for testing and validation of CPE and backend systems affecting CPE.
• Understanding of DOCSIS and Cable Modem Provisioning:
  Essential for effective test execution and troubleshooting.
• Test Execution and Documentation:
  Involved in executing tests, documenting test reports, and troubleshooting field escalations.
• Technical Focus Areas:
  Includes TR-069, IPv6, Fiber to the Home (FTTH), Voice Services, IP routing, IP multicast, streaming video, and home networking.
• Provisioning and Network Protocols:
  Work on provisioning, DHCP, DNS, IPv4, IPv6, Static RIP, Residential, and SMB testing.
• Firmware Certification:
  Involved in firmware certification software for CPE, finding bugs before customers do.

• Experience:
  
  At least 3 years of hands-on network engineering experience, preferably with a cable MSO or ISP.
• Mandatory
  
  Skills:
  
  DOCSIS, end to end Device Testing, CPE, Fiber/cable, Lab Testing. A DOCSIS engineering professional certification is highly desired but not required.
• Software & Automation:
  Experience with scripting (Perl, Python); knowledge of Python is helpful for automation tools; experience with automation, databases, scripting, and system administration is a plus.
• Backgrounds: DOCSIS or Fiber background (including PON or ONU). Wireless background with 802.11 experience acceptable if no DOCSIS experience. A mobile background is also okay.
• ISP/MSO
  
  Experience:
  
  Preferred to have familiarity with industry standards and practices.
