Job Description
BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Network Technician in Fort Collins, CO.
Position Title: Network Technician
Location: Fort Collins, CO 80528
Anticipated
Start Date:
09/23/2024 (Target date, subject to change.)
Expected Duration: 5+ months with a strong possibility of extension.
Job Type: Contract – 40 hrs/week.
Pay Range: $25/hr to $28/hr on W2.
Actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities. It does not include additional non‑standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem).
Responsibilities- Test and troubleshoot racked solutions in a high‑paced program environment.
- Utilize hardware, networking, and advanced scripting knowledge to deploy customer specifications per the customer’s instructions.
- Work on highly complex assignments that require independent judgment and technical knowledge to solve problems.
- Complete work independently, handling unique situations.
- Troubleshoot failures as they occur (software or hardware).
- Log all failures in the online system.
- Collect trend data as directed by supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous HPE hardware experience and understanding of infrastructure and test methods.
- Proven ability to communicate quality concerns with peers, supervisors, and engineering support.
- Minimum 1 year experience with Linux and Windows Server operating systems (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of network transfers, pre‑boot execution environment, and TCP/IP.
- Experience in network switch configuration, firmware upgrades, and subnet masking.
- Knowledge of image deployment.
- Knowledge of VMware (preferred). Knowledge of virtualization (preferred).
- Unix/Linux experience required.
- Understanding of failure modes of products, test processes, and system block diagrams (preferred).
- Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Analytical problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical trends and concerns.
- Conflict management and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to identify basic purpose of server and rack components.
- Expert knowledge on general/technical aspects of the job.
- Minimum requirement of a technical associate’s degree in Electronics, Computer Networking, Computer Engineering/Tech, or relevant work experience.
