Basic Qualifications
- Active Final SECRET clearance required prior to starting
- Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
- Experience with Linux and Windows Server system administration
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Red Hat Open Stack, or Nutanix
- Experience with a scripting language such as Bash, Python, Power Shell or Ansible
- Hands‑on experience managing Kubernetes clusters, preferably with Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and Open Shift including deploying applications and services utilizing Helm charts and Kubernetes operators
- Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and supporting infrastructure using Git Lab (including managing Git Lab and Runners)
Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2
BMC) Experimentation Lab (X-LAB), is engineering, developing, and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team consists of many small agile teams that work together in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Our team is responsible for tasks such as sensor/weapon integration, algorithm development, user interface development, automated testing, cyber security, and enhancing other critical, leading‑edge missile defense technologies.
Work
As a Dev Ops Engineer for the C2
BMC Experimentation Lab (X‑Lab) at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC), Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, you will deploy, manage, and maintain large‑scale on‑premise cloud and hyper‑converged infrastructure solutions. The core focus of this role is the lifecycle management of containerized environments and infrastructure automation.
Key responsibilities include:
deploying, maintaining and managing the lifecycle of on‑premise cloud clusters Nutanix and/or Red Hat Open Shift; managing and scaling enterprise Kubernetes clusters utilizing Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and Open Shift; deploying applications, services and middleware using Helm charts and Kubernetes operators; utilizing Ansible for extensive infrastructure automation and configuration management; designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure using Git Lab and Git Lab Runners;
and tracking the impact of events/actions on the underlying infrastructure. Your expertise will help enable rapid, reliable testing of command‑and‑control capabilities while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists.
- This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
- This position is located at Schriever, Space Force Base, 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO and is 100% onsite.
- This position may involve some travel to our customer sites throughout the U.S. Additionally, this position will occasionally support test events that occur off‑hours, i.e., overnight or on weekends.
