Description Of JobAre you ready to make a real impact and ensure fairness in Colorado's gaming industry? Join a dedicated team where your investigative skills directly impact the integrity of Colorado's gaming industry. This role offers a unique blend of field enforcement, complex financial/criminal investigation, and regulatory oversight.
The Division of Gaming is seeking a dedicated and skilled investigator to join our Gaming Enforcement unit. We are committed to upholding the integrity of limited gaming, keeping it free from criminal and corrupt elements.
What You'll Do- Lead Complex Investigations:
Plan and execute intricate criminal and compliance investigations into alleged violations of Colorado Statutes and Limited Gaming Regulations. - Maintain Tactical Presence:
Proactively patrol casino floors as an armed officer to deter cheating and theft while preserving the peace. - Execute Legal Actions:
Issue criminal summonses, prepare arrest warrants, and provide expert testimony in criminal, civil, and administrative hearings. - Conduct Advanced Interrogations:
Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects using specialized techniques to gather critical evidence. - Ensure Regulatory Integrity:
Perform comprehensive inspections of gaming devices, facilities, and records to verify compliance with Internal Control Minimum Procedures. - Resolve Industry Disputes:
Investigate and resolve patron complaints regarding jackpot awards using expert knowledge of gaming technology and state law. - Collaborate & Support:
Partner with local and multi-jurisdictional agencies on case filings and provide security for Department of Revenue facilities. - Manage Evidence:
Collect and preserve physical and documentary evidence while utilizing state databases to track inventory and sales data.

Minimum Qualifications , Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal RightsOption 1:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, criminology, criminal justice, criminalistics, political science, police science, law enforcement, law, psychology, sociology and four (4) years of relevant experience in investigative experience conducting both criminal and regulatory investigations.
- Required valid/active Colorado P.O.S.T. Certification at time of application.
Option 2:
Eight (8) years of relevant experience in investigative experience conducting both criminal and regulatory investigations.
- Required valid/active Colorado P.O.S.T. Certification at time of application.
Option 3: A combination of related education in business administration, public administration, criminology, criminal justice, criminalistics, political science, police science, law enforcement, law, psychology, sociology, formalized apprenticeship program, certification, and/or relevant experience in experience conducting both criminal and regulatory investigations equal to eight (8) years.
