Position Summary Responsible for managing facilities, dormitories, academic buildings, athletic facilities, grounds, support programs, maintenance coordination, customer service, emergency response coordination, and facility support staff serving the United States Air Force Academy.

Dean of Faculty Responsibilities
  • Manage facilities supporting the Dean of Faculty, including Fairchild Hall, CETF (Fairchild Annex), Aeronautics Laboratory, Observatory, RPA Operations Center, and associated academic facilities.
  • Supervise facility support personnel assigned to the Dean of Faculty operations and assign daily work responsibilities.
  • Coordinate daily with the Dean of Faculty government representatives regarding priorities, facility issues, and mission requirements.
  • Coordinate with non‑Dean of Faculty organizations occupying supported facilities.
  • Manage inventories and installation of furnishings, signage, bulletin boards, whiteboards, and related facility assets.
  • Ensure bulletin boards and signage meet USAFA standards.
  • Assist with office relocations, furniture moves, and equipment moves.
  • Develop and distribute light‑bulb replacement schedules and other preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate construction, maintenance, and repair activities with Civil Engineering and contractors.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, order materials and supplies, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, health, and waste‑management requirements.
  • Support classroom and instructional environments as required.
Cadet Wing and Preparatory School Responsibilities
  • Manage Cadet Wing dormitory services and support programs.
  • Administer CAMIS or successor systems and maintain dormitory key accountability.
  • Develop academic‑year and summer dormitory assignment plans, room configurations, and occupancy plans.
  • Brief newly assigned AOCs and AMTs on dormitory procedures, discrepancy reporting, maintenance schedules, and facility standards within required timelines.
  • Oversee dormitory support and linen exchange for summer programs and Summer Seminar.
  • Manage laundry facilities in Sijan Hall, Vandenberg Hall, and Preparatory School facilities, including buildings 5212, 5214, 5216, 5224, and 5226.
  • Manage daily operations of Preparatory School dormitories, academic facilities, athletic facilities, and support spaces.
  • Coordinate cadet candidate dormitory occupancy, maintenance, and facility support requirements.
Shared Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate facility support staff; ensure safe operation and proper use of equipment.
  • Conduct routine facility and grounds inspections.
  • Submit, monitor, and track maintenance and repair work orders through completion.
  • Coordinate with 10 CES and other support agencies regarding repairs, outages, construction, and facility improvements.
  • Communicate utility outages, evacuations, emergencies, and facility impacts to affected occupants.
  • Serve as liaison with Security Forces, Fire Department, Emergency Management personnel, and Government representatives during incidents.
  • Conduct post‑incident facility assessments and communicate facility status.
  • Assist with annual mission‑essential contractor services planning.
  • Maintain required records and recurring reports.
