Organizational Overview:

Rocky Mountain Children's Health Foundation (RMCHF) is a Colorado 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2008, dedicated to improving the quality of life for families, sick children, and infants through Patient and Family Assistance Programs, education, and outreach.

The Foundation operates Mothers' Milk Bank (MMB), the largest nonprofit milk bank in North America and a significant mission-based earned-revenue program that plays an important role in RMCHF's financial model and sustainability. RMCHF is an approximately $5.6 million organization with 22 professional staff and is governed by an 18-member Board of Directors.

The Opportunity:

RMCHF is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization into its next chapter. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with the ability to translate priorities into action and measurable results.

The next CEO joins RMCHF at an important point in its evolution, with an opportunity to build on the organization’s strengths while positioning it for greater impact and long-term sustainability. Key priorities include strengthening and diversifying philanthropic support, raising RMCHF’s visibility and presence in the community, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring the organization has the leadership structure, systems, and resources needed for its future.

The CEO will take time to listen and learn, respecting institutional knowledge and existing strengths while bringing clarity to roles, accountability, decision-making, and organizational priorities.

An important early priority will be assessing RMCHF’s organizational structure and needs. The CEO will evaluate roles, responsibilities, reporting relationships, spans of control, areas where responsibilities are currently shared or combined, and the capabilities of the existing team. Based on that assessment, the CEO will recommend and implement a structure that creates clear accountability, builds the right leadership capacity, and best positions RMCHF for future growth and impact.

Working in partnership with fundraising staff and the Board, the CEO will play an active role in expanding RMCHF’s philanthropic reach and building relationships with donors and other supporters. The CEO will also serve as a visible ambassador for RMCHF, strengthening its community presence and developing relationships and partnerships that increase awareness, support, and impact.

The CEO will provide strategic leadership across the organization, including Mothers' Milk Bank, balancing MMB’s significant mission and financial role with strengthening the broader identity, impact, and long-term sustainability of RMCHF.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is ultimately accountable for the leadership, performance, financial health, culture, and impact of the entire organization.
