Job Description

This position is responsible for performing quality inspections of in-process assemblies, finished assemblies, and incoming inspection of purchased parts/materials. A variety of techniques are used, including dimensional, visual, and paperwork verification requiring the usage of measuring tools, drawings, written instructions, and verbal instructions. Any parts/materials found to be non-conforming to customer requirements and/or drawings must be identified and documented.

This is a Second Shift role with hours of: 2:30 pm to 10:00 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection of in-process and finished kit assemblies.
  • Perform incoming inspection of purchased parts/materials.
  • Perform visual inspection of welds.
  • Create inspection reports and maintain records of welding procedures, welding qualifications, and inspection results.
  • Utilize GD&T methods and determine the proper equipment necessary to inspect features accurately.
  • Identify and document non-conformance reports.
  • Interpret and apply GD&T at a Master Level, determining acceptance/rejection criteria when defining inspection methods and techniques.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Measure, monitor, improve, and control KPIs.
  • Follow all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
  • Identify and suggest areas of improvement to strive toward a continuous improvement organization; participate in events and other improvement activities as required.
  • Actively participate, demonstrate, and promote a culture of awareness, personal choice, peer support, and continuous improvement relative to safety and quality.
Qualifications
  • High school Diploma/GED.
  • 5-7 years of QC inspection experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency using standard inspection methods and gages to inspect bar stock, castings, and machined components.
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, gauge blocks.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.
  • Technical ability to read/interpret engineering drawings, pipe and instrument diagram (P&), and industry/customer/supplier specifications.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Organizational skills to manage constant workflow and changing demands.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
  • Written and verbal skills adequate to communicate with other team members and internal/external customers.
  • Self‑starter, ability to work under minimal supervision.
We Value
  • Associate degree or higher education.
  • ASQ Certification – Certified Quality Inspector, Certified Calibration Technician preferred.
  • Other Certifications – AWS CWI QC‑1, ASNT SNT‑T‑C‑1A PT, MT Level II preferred.
  • Familiarity with ASME, ASTM standards preferred.

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $28 – $36 per hour. This salary information serves as a general guideline;
