Machinist - Level 3; 2nd shift

Job Description

As a Machinist Level 3 at Honeywell, you will play a vital role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining machinery to produce pumps and compressor components using CNC equipment. Your expertise will ensure that production meets quality standards and efficiency goals. You will report directly to the Production Supervisor and will work out of our Arvada, CO location on an on‑site schedule.

• 2nd shift 3:00 pm – 1:30 am Monday–Thursday
• Utilize blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels of finished products in accordance with Honeywell Manufacturing Operations Policies, Practices and Procedures, and Quality Management.
• Utilize safe working habits and remain conscientious of safety for self, others, equipment or property. Maintain a neat and orderly work area to minimize unsafe conditions.
• Set up and operate numerous machine tools to precision tolerances from blueprints and sketches, and maintain all process documentation.
• Primary work will be on a CNC lathe and CNC mill.
• Make, modify or improvise tooling and gauging to complete assignments. Repair hardware or machine components per written or verbal instructions and perform precision machining operations to highest quality standards.
• Work with a broad range of materials (stainless, hardened steel, exotics).
• Inspect product using micrometers, dial indicators, surface plates, bench comparators, profilometers, optical comparators, etc., to assure compliance.
• Strive to maintain high personal productivity level and perform other related duties as assigned, including training other employees when necessary.
• Work independently to meet customer demands and manage the workload of the department.
• Learn and apply new information and concepts within the technical area.
• Perform complex technical assignments requiring analysis of multiple factors.
• Provide special guidance on more unusual task completions, new skill acquisition and advanced technical training as a recognized internal mentor to lower‑level technicians.
• Identify problems and suggest solutions.

• 7+ years of milling experience
• Strong mechanical ability and machine expertise
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T and complex engineering drawings
• 3+ years of shop trigonometry

• HS Diploma or GED
• Associate degree or Technical Certification
• Strong working knowledge of CNC machining, including demonstrated experience with G & M code

The hourly rate range for this position is $28.00 – $38.00. Salary is determined by the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education, training, key skills, and market and business considerations.
