Position: Penetrant & Mechanical Inspector (Level II)

Job Summary:

We specialize in machining
complex geometries
and difficult‑to‑cut alloys; your expertise in both Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) and mechanical dimensional inspection is vital to ensuring these intricate designs meet the uncompromising standards of flight safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI): Perform high‑sensitivity Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) on complex, multi‑axis machined parts to detect discontinuities in aluminum, titanium, and advanced aerospace alloys.
  • Mechanical Dimensional Inspection: Utilize precision hand tools—including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges to verify tight‑tolerance features and internal diameters against engineering blueprints.
  • Blueprint & GD&T Interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards for contoured structural components.
  • Technical Documentation: Record, organize, and report inspection results. Generate non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing leads to resolve root causes of defects.
  • Equipment Calibration: Set up, calibrate, and perform daily/weekly process control checks on NDT equipment and mechanical measuring tools.
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Certification: Current
    Level II Certification
    in Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) in accordance with
    NAS-410
    or ASNT SNT‑TC‑1A.
  • Geometric Expertise: Proven track record of inspecting high‑precision components with complex geometries (e.g., 5‑axis milled parts).
  • Mechanical

    Skills:

    Proficiency in manual dimensional inspection and the use of standard metrology equipment.
  • Vision: Must pass and maintain current eye examinations (Jaeger requirements) as required by NAS‑410.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with
    Model‑Based Definition (MBD)and digital inspection techniques.
  • Knowledge of additional NDT methods (e.g., Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, or Ultrasonic Testing).
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality management systems.
Education:

High school diploma or GED

Min experience:

Minimum of 2–4 years of quality inspection experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
