ITSPEC; Network​/Custspt Security Clearance

Position: ITSPEC (NETWORK/CUSTSPT) with Security Clearance
Duties Manages the assigned IT/communications environment with privileged access at the network level for the Wing, Geographically Separated Units (GSU), and Tenants. Serves as a focal point for ensuring functionality and operability of the assigned IT/data systems/functions, voice and wireless systems to support mission requirements of Wing, Geographically Separated Units (GSU), and Tenants. Provides customer technical assistance and support for all users.

Determines customer requirements and assists customers by recognizing and analyzing trends and providing instruction and orientation services. Conducts feasibility studies to identify and analyze system failures and analyzes data to determine if trends exist which forecast the need for future replacement or modification of system hardware and software. Coordinates frequency needs with command level spectrum management office to maintain current allocations and obtain new authorizations.

Installs, maintains, and repairs hardware devices supporting a broad range of information and communications systems. Adheres to management control plan requirements by conducting self inspection and staff assistance visits. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
* Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard.
* Must hold the grade of E-2 thru E-7.
* Submit all required documentation.
* May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
* Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
* For positions requiring the operation for motor vehicle, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
* For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. Qualifications Military Grades: E-2 thru E-7 Please advise:
1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. Experience receiving, maintaining, and issuing data storage media for computer operations.
2. Experience in scheduling the use of computer time for program processing.
3. Experience collecting and sequentially staging input media with associated program instructions for processing.
4. Experience in at least one programming language.
5. Experience interviewing subject-matter personnel to get facts regarding work processes and synthesizing the resulting data into charts showing information flow.
6. Experience in analysis of the interrelationship of pertinent components of the system.
7. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment.
8. Experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency. Must have at least 12 months of experience in each of the following for the GS-11 in addition to the above:
1. Experience that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization.
2. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls.
3. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment.
4. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Education Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - For the GS-5 level, a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the experience requirements. At the GS-7 level, one full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement.

At the GS-9 level, a masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree may be substituted.
